ABOUT US & HISTORY

Hello everyone! Boys Love Network (BLN) is a non-profit organization whose members share and are gathered by the same interest which is Yaoi (Boys' Love). We basically put BL manga and their respective BLCD together with English translations and some animations to make a video.

Unintentionally, we became a semi-scanlation group due to the fact that one of our projects' scanlation is incomplete. Since some of us have experience on scanlating manga, we decided to continue the scanlation.

We will try our best to release a video each week. Please be patient if there are times when there are no releases. We are using our free times and days off from work and college to make the videos.

Have you ever wondered how Boys Love Network started?

 The Originals
It all started with White Cat. He was bored and curious so he decided to try video editing. He made BLCD + Manga videos of Warui Koto Shitai by Sakuraga Mei on which the first video was published on July 09, 2012. The OMAKE was published on August 02, 2012 and his initial plan was to stop making these videos after finishing this particular manga but some of the viewers asked for more. He was hesitant. He wanted to please the viewers but at the same time, he wanted to spend his time on more important things. 'cause in all honesty, there isn't so much merit in this past-time. So he thought of recruiting fellow Yaoi-fans or not who are willing to edit videos together by posting a recruitment video on his YouTube account.

Luckily, there are replies!
First to join was KiryuuDai (translator), then KawaiiEllaChan (scan editor), Black Cat (scan and video editor) and White Dog (translator). These are the original members including White Cat. If you didn't know, Black Rabbit is White Cat's alias.

 The Name
Before we start making the videos, there were a lot of things to consider. One of which was the group name. Some of the suggestions were: Got Yaoi?Shounen AiLandBoys Love Network and, as you know, the latter won and it was suggested by Black Cat.

 The Logo and Video Style
Another thing to consider was our group logo and how to standardize our videos. If you've seen White Cat's videos, there is a White Cat icon on the lower right corner so as to prevent others from stealing the videos, it also serves like a signature and it can be used on commentaries or additional translations. We adapted this style on our group videos. All members were asked to design a logo if they can but only White Cat and Black Cat submitted. In the end, White Cat decided to combine his and Black Cat's designs.  Thus, the logo above, but we only use the letter 'o' a.k.a. that symbol with two arrows on our videos since the whole logo is too long. Besides, the symbol speaks volumes. It's actually two male (a.k.a. symbol of the Roman god, Mars) symbols combined together. It symbolizes two males who are one.

 Scanlations and BLCD

One important ingredient on video editing are the scans and where do we get them? We get them from scanlation groups composed of very hardworking scanlators. People who work for FREE! Before we use them, we ask for permission first. They work for hours and hours and throw out their social lives, and some people out there use them freely and get all the unnecessary credits. It's RUDE to use them without their consent you know?

Thou it is hypocritical of us too say this since we use raw scans without the consent of the author/artist, publishing company and everyone involve in the production of the involved manga. But we are willing to cross the lines for you, dear Fujoshi(s) and for ourselves as well. Our BLCDs, on the other hand, are provided by our own members and sometimes from websites that offer them freely.

 First Projects
To celebrate our group's establishment and first appearance in this industry, we decided to release two projects (Doushitemo Furetakunai and Hisho Ikuseichuu) and the first video was released on September 5, 2012.

 Goodbyes and Hellos
Unfortunately, we cannot be in this industry forever. Some of us quit due to personal reasons or inactivity. But don't fret! There will always be a few good souls out there who are willing to continue what was started.

May our videos offer you delight and happiness...
